speaker not working

Hi

I have been having a few problems this week with my iphone 4s. When people are ringing me I cant hear them speak but they can hear me, so everytime i recieve a call I have to put my phone onto loud speaker.

I have spoken to someone at apple who said to take it to my nearest store but this miles away, this doesnt help me.
