Network OK, apps can access it.

I'm running Snow Leopard using a Wi-Fi connection to an airport extreme. The "Settings" app on the MacPro says the network is fine, and other computers on the airport are accessing the network OK. But my Mac apps can't connect. "Network Not Found" Any suggestions? Everything was working fine for weeks and this problem appeared just a day ago with no obvious changes to the OS.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
