I can't connect to the 2.4GHz band of a dual band router. Connecting to the 5GHz is no problem. Any suggestions?

How are your preferences set in your Appl/Utilities/ AirPort Utility.app - 5Ghz only?
Change it in Wireless>>wireless options
I solved my "problem"...just a "new mac user" issue...but Thanks for the reply Leroy!
So what was the issue?
My guess is that after I installed my new dual band router... and used the same SSID name for the 2.4GHz band as was used on my old router... and the original router did not have security enabled... the connection process quickly failed because it was using the old authentication info. When I tried the "Join Other Network" option I was able to enter the proper security settings and force a change to the authentication info for the SSID... again, thanks for the help Leroy.
