MacBook Pro Retina wifi issue

I've hunted the boards here and have seen lots of questions regarding MacBook Pro Retina wifi issues but I haven't yet found an answer. I've had a 15" Retina since late August. It came with Mountain Lion and apart from the update to 10.8.2 I have altered no settings at all. The install was obviously clean and I didn't migrate any settings from my prior MBP.

The issue I have is near-constant loss of wifi connectivity to my Time Capsule. I have 4 full bars showing, but whatever netwrok activity I undertaking hangs. Often, after several minutes, the activity will recommence by itself.

At the same time I have an iMac and various IOS devices which continue to connect with no problem. If I look at the network diagnostics during one of these hangs it tells me that I have lost connectivity at the ISP level, but that can't be the case as I can connect to the same webpage at the same time on another mac.

I've tried deleting prefs and networks, changing locations, without success. Hardwired to the Time Capsule I never get the problem, so everything is pointing to the wifi.

The issue seems to be getting worse over time.

This seems to be a widespread issue but I'm not sure anyone has successfully negotiated their way around it.

Any clues?

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.

Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair

*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

Hi,

I am having the very same issue, and my MBPR just came back from a swap yesterday from Apple Store, the "Genius" Guy checked it, could not find a fault, but changed it "just in case", I got it back, same day, and came back home, restored it from time capsule and tried it... it seems worse actually... I loose WiFi connectivity even more often..

I know they changed it, serial is different, mac address is different...

I can't understand why Apple is turning a blind eye on this...
