using Webkit /css animation in epub 3

I do alot of epubs, Apple fixed layouts as well as Read Aloud Books. Up until now I was using an app for the Read Aloud books and recently unpackaged the Apple epub 3 sample to investigate how the animation was done. I see webkit and css was used so my questions are as follows.

I see that Webkit is for Safari but I need to know if there is a getting started tutorial on how to use WK in an epub like the Apple epub sample.

Webkit is not a walk in the park as to do a simple animal tail wag or eyes opening and closing does take some time. Is it possible to use let's say Adobe Edge Animate to do the entire html page with the animation or does Apple restrict the animation be done in webkit only?

anyone?
