how to set up a airport?

i bougth a airport wireless card to installed on my mac and i did it

i know that the anthena cable is connected ok. my powerbook is running 10.3.9 os version

the version of the airport it's 9.52

before the bars for the wifi where gray they were not detecting anything

now they are invisible just like a black triangle. and it saids the airport is not

configured i don't know what else to do. please help me
