You cannot update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software.

My macbook pro is new. When I bought it I paid extra for pages, numbers and keynote. I havent used these yet and it says on my app store updates available. When I click on to update, a message comes up "You cannot update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software. " not allowing me to use or update the software.

Any suggestions would be so welcome. I am new to mac so laymans terms would really help.
