serial number no longer works

serial number no longer works

I had to clean my HD and start over.

After transferring Aperture 2.1.4 to the new, clean install (SnowLeopard) It keeps asking for the serial number and keeps saying "SN is invalid" It is NOT. It is the same as on the backup AND written down elsewhere.

At first It would not open at all saying "this version won't work with your OS" The I downloaded 2.1.4 again to reinstall that. That says I must have version 2.0 (of aperture) in order to install. Which of course I do.

I also tried to reinstall 2.0 from the disk with the same problem. "SN is not valid"

Troubleshooting Professional Application Serial Numbers

Reinstall from your Disk, then enter the serial number exactly as written on the box.

Is your Aperture 2 an upgrade from Aperture 1? Then you will have to enter the aperture 1 serial number as well.

In case you do not have it longer, contact Apple for a replacement:

I reinstalled 1. SN worked fine.

I reinstalled 2: SN is not valid

I deleted 1 and

yes it was an upgrade

Aperture 1 and 2 have different serial numbers. You need to find the original box with the installation media for version 2. The serial number is written somewhere in the box.
