I no longer see the option to start a new Screen Recording when I open QuickTime 7. Recently I had to replace a bad disc and reloaded Snow Leopard. I now can't see the option to open an new screen recording. Any ideas please?

That's not an option in QuickTime 7 and never has been; only the QuickTime X application provides it.
