macbook wont charge regardless of charger being plugged in. no green light is showing either. possible dead battery that needs replacing?

i have a macbook pro that is just over a year old. a few days ago it was having issues with the trackpad, and i read that the battery could cause issues with that. after a few hours it managed to resolve itself and then yesterday i connected it to the charger and it just wouldnt charge. it was all plugged in correctly but the green light on the charger wasnt lit and no power was getting through. i turned it off when it was at 5% battery, and it wont change while off, nor turn back on. is it possible that the battery itself is dead and it needs to be replaced?

check out the info on your MBP. Check battery cycles, charge, power info. If you see any numbers that are out of "whack" take it in to the Apple store or an AASP. The first 2 are with the power adapter connected, the second 2 are with no power adapter connected. If you are seeing large amounts of numbers, you should take your Mac to an Apple sstore for a diagnosis.

You can check this by clicking the Apple logo on the menu bar, about this Mac>more info, in the left column click power and you can find this data. Hope this helps.User uploaded fileUser uploaded fileUser uploaded fileUser uploaded file
