how can i get music from my windows media player into my iphone?

Windows media files are generally DRM protected. There is no way to convert them to a format that will play on the iPhone using the native apps (at least none that are legal). There are apps in the App Store that claim to be able to play WMV files. I haven't tried any of them.

Basically, it tricks your computer into thinking you've mounted a blank CD. So I just filtered out all my itunes music whose Kind is Protected AAC (bought before they removed DRM), split it up into CD-sized playlists, and burn and import playlists one by one.

Before all that, I was getting desperate and tried DRM Media Converter, but the demo only does songs up to 3minutes and I didn't want to pay $35 just to remove DRM that wouldn't exist if I paid the same $$ to purchase the same music today. But DRM Media Converter automatically converts all the files and you just have to drag into iTunes to reimport, so that would be a faster way to do it.
