how do i move music i bought on my ipod on to my computer?

I want to update my ipod, but it tells me nedd to move he music I have purchused on my ipod in to my itune store or it will delete it. How do I do this?

iPod touch, iOS 4.1

This is the old iTunes, what about the new iTunes 11.0.1? THe interface has changed and now these instructions don't work.

In iTunes 11 use Control+B to show the Menu bar then go to iTunes>File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
