I just purchased a 15" macbook pro retina and the nvidia graphics card is not appearing. Any idea why this would be?

Brand new mac appaers to not have the nvidia card that comes standard with the machine. A little worried as to why this would be

Only kicks on when needed.

or try downloading gfxCardStatus http://gfx.io

You can verify your card is being recognized by the system

>(option key) System Info>Hardware>Graphics/Displays

Your Display will only show on the gfx card in use at the time.
