Mac gets heated up quickly

I am using my macbook pro from past 4 months and I have nticed that it gets heated up very quikly...again when I put it on charge I get static charge when I touch my mac...can some1 pls explain this??

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

You can try installing Temperature Monitor (or the lite version) to see what the built-in thermal sensors read for various components of your system: http://www.bresink.com/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html


As for the shocks, if they're static "zaps" then that's somewhat unavoidable; however, if you feel a buzzing vibration of sorts then you might try a new electrical socket (specifically on a separate circuit), or try a new power adapter.
