supported languages

Hi!

I saw this page on itunesconnect about a month ago:

User uploaded file

in page above itunesconnect explain that RTL languages also approved but EPUB3 reqiured such as ARABIC, HEBREW, PERSIAN & ...

so when you make an ebook with EPUB3 format, and try to upload that with iTunes producer in first page you will see this:

User uploaded file

all of languages that itunes connect acclaim those are in the list, so good. You fill the forms and upload your content without any problem and in last page you see this:

Your Package Validated Correctly.

that's great!

Even you receive a ticket from itunesconnect that your book has to have a description with same as language that your book language.

after you fix this ticket and send the package again and inform they to do that and they confirm that received the correct package; after hours you receive an e-mail with the new ticket that they say:

unfortunatly iBookstore dont support these languages at this time.....

ooh

If they unsupport those languages why they are in list of iTunes producer?

If support....

Any other person nose with this problem?

- Arabic

- Dari

- Farsi

- Hebrew

- Jawi

- Malaysian

- Pashto

- Persian

While titles can be delivered in these languages, they will be not available on the iBookstore at this time. If you had delivered a book to us in a language that is currently not supported, you will be able to release your book once the language can be supported by the iBookstore.

You should go back to them and quote this passage from Page 45 of UsingiTunesProducer2.8_Books.pdf of 10/10/12 and ask why the they have been publishing erroneous guidance for authors.

Do any languages require EPUB 3.0, iBooks 3.0 app, and iOS 6?

The earlier version of the iBookstore Publisher User Guide, from Jan. of 2012, had a special section called "What Languages Does the iBookstore NOT Support", which listed all the RTL scripts plus Chinese and Japanese. The new version, from 10/25/12, totally omits that section. To me this is another indication that these scripts should now be accepted.

I suppose they might say that positive statement about RTL in the Using iTunes Producer 2.8 guide has just not been implemented yet. But that was nearly 4 months ago, and they really should not have put that in there if it was so wrong at the time.

But I hope the people who answered you have just made a mistake and RTL is in fact now possible.

Is it possible that someone email me from iBookstore and makes a mistake about the ruls of company?!

I don't think so!

If you think so, I can keep try.

Minewile I read all of documents and userguide about iBookstore , itunesconnect and iTunes producer. After 6 months hard working to pass the problems with RTL languges and passing all of them step by step I just gaze shockingly to the email from iBookstore.

Last email from iBookstore after I lend them their instruction has some false information or some one there has uncharted info:

I am following up with you regarding your inquiries. It is my understanding the

"UsingiTunesProducer2.8_Books.pdf" shows supported languages but your book was issued a ticket advising that we do not support these languages. If you had delivered a book to us in a language that is currently not supported, you will be able to release your book once the language can be supported by the iBookstore. We will inform you when additional languages are supported by the iBookstore in our newsletters.
