My laptop screen is broken. But the system is ok. I Wonder if I can connect the iPad with laptop by a VGA cable.

You cannot output your laptop display to the iPad. The iPad cannot be used as a monitor.
You can run you laptop with the iPad controlling it via one of the Apps like LogMeIn, GoToMyPC, etc.
Thx JimHDK. I went with GoToMyPc and it works as good as all the podcasts i listen to have been paid to tell me. The regular free trial is only 30 days but there're promo codes to get that up to 45 days (e.g. "colin", "hannity"). Now I can actually use my iPad as a ghetto laptop replacement by controlling my desktop when I'm at Starbucks. :-)
