I received this error message;The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination. I have not recently changed my password. I don't even know where to look to see what the password was, or is??

Open iphoto>Preferences>accounts
check your settings here, especially the correct smtp address
I just tested this an could not email from iPhoto. I was prompted for my password which I gave and then was greeted by a continue dialogue with a "!" (problem) icon in the top left.
THis may be part of the bug referenced here.

Hmm. just for another vote of confidence, I have no trouble sending emailing from iphoto.
Your kb refers to save from Mail directly to iPhoto
What have you set as Mailer in the iPhoto "Preferences > General" tab? Are you mailing from iPhoto using "iPhoto" or "Mail/Outlook/...". Using iPhoto as Mailer has been problematic, if you look at the many related threads in the iPhoto forum, but setting "Mail.app" as Mailer in the "General" preferences "Email Photos using ..." usually works.
For me, both settings, "Email Photos using iPhoto" and "Email Photos using Mail" work well, but only if I use my iCloud account as the Mail account in iPhoto.
Here's the issue, it is assigning a user name to smtp and asking for my password. As far as I know smpt and my mail prefs it states "smtp authentication method: none". Yet it furnishes a username that I've used before but is no longer in use.

Preferences>General tab> iphoto- gives you acess to the templates
Preferences>General tab>Mail - opens mail only

Even though it is asking for user/psswd as the error, it has to be the correct smtp address for it to recognize your 'correct' user/psswd.
