what is a Time Capsule

This is my first Macbook and I see a notification that my 'Time Machine' isn't configured. The available options are Time Capsule, and External Drive which I do not have. So I was just wondering what a Time Capsule was.

A Time Capsule is an Apple product that combines an Airport Extreme Base Station router with a built-in hard drive to be used for Time Machine backups. Time Machine is the backup software that comes with OS X. If you don't have a backup drive then you should plan to get one. For now you can ignore the notification if you don't have a backup drive.
