The outgoing call icon has just appeared in the menu bar at the top of the screen on my iPhone 5 and i cant seem to get rid of it.

The outgoing call icon has just appeared in the menu bar at the top of the screen (next to the wifi icon) on my iPhone 5 and no matter what i do i cant seem to get rid of it.

I have rebooted and and cleared all running apps and still on luck.

The phone still works ok and i can make and receive calls.... any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Oh okay! Thank you, I fixed it because of you!

wessec to turn it off, simply go to settings > phone > call forwarding.

And it should be off (the icon should disappear)

That's Call Forwarding meaning you have CF setup. See p. 11 and 49 of the User Guide.

What exactly does the "outgoing call" icon look like. I don't think I've ever seen it.

Well i call it an icon anyway.......and its in the status bar at the top... it's and old syle phone phone receiver with a arrow coming out of it which means its an outgoing call.
