DVD authoring software

I'm sure this has been asked over and over since Apple seems to have ditched some of its software, but I really need a program that will allow me to create a master DVD with menus. This DVD will be used for replication and sale in a nonprofit bookstore.

I am running Mountain Lion and using Final Cut Pro X to do my editing.

What are my options?

Thanks.

Current applications are Toast and Encore. You can probably also find Apple's old software iDVD and DVD Studio Pro.

Buy iDVD.

Yes, there are programs that will put a movie on a DVD. I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, DVD Creator, Wondershare, and others. None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD.

With iDVD you can easily and quickly create DVDs with menus and graphics almost on the level of what Hollywood can do.

IDVD is easy to get. It is available on disk as part of iLife 11.

IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40. (works with all Mac OS 10.5 and newer.)

Tom, I bet you're probably right.

I have Toast and checked out it's capabilities last night. But it would be nice to get iDVD while I still can.

So my next quesiton is: I see that in both the lastest updates for iMovie and Final Cut Pro X the option to "Share / iDVD" has been removed (funny because the Help in iMovie still has instructions on how to do it).

So what are the steps to get a Final Cut project (or an iMovie) into iDVD?

Hello

There are many simple DVD Authoring or DVD creating Apps for the Mac out there. A quick search on the net for DVD authoring software for the Mac turns up these

VideoPad, ScreenFlow, Wondershare DVD Creator, Express Burn, Toast, DVD Creator for Mac, iDVD , Burn, DVDStyler, SmallDVD.

But in my view the best ones (allowing the most creative menus) or most pro software are still the old DVD Studio Pro 4.2.2 and Adobe Encore to the current versions.

Best Wishes

Peter
