will it work with iMovie?
Novice user, new to the Mac system but I need to change the format on videos to use with our presentation software. I don't have Final Cut pro yet, so we've been using iMovie.
Mac mini, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Yes it will... Just export the video from iMovie and import that into Compressor. Compressor is a stand-alone app. Meaning... doesn't need another program to work.
