Q: How to transfer the data from my old iPhone 3GS to iPhone 5 ?

I have iPhone 3GS and I have bought a new iPhone 5, my question is how do I transfer the data as it is with out duplicating it on any of the devices.

I have an registered apple ID sync with my Mac book pro.

iPhone 3GS, iOS 6.0.2

I have installed it but I find it very confusing so I prefer to sync it with iTunes.
