I am not sure but I just bought a new iMac and when installing Windows 7 via BootCamp the description window said "Windows 7 or higher"

Not sure if compatable yet but this looks like might be.

there are no official win8 drivers out yet

so it's hit or miss if the win7 drivers works and how stable

"Windows 7 or higher" to me means Windows 8. I can't get HDMI Audio working on my Mac Mini though. I'm forced to use SPDIF Toslink audio out for now until new Win 8 bootcamp drivers come out. My new HDMI SlingBox only accepts HDMI for audio though so I'm stuck. I hope Win 8 support comes out soon! I've been waiting nearly 2 months.

by that logic then you feel apple promised you support for windows 9 and 10 if ms released them tomorrow and sunday

if you look around this forum you'd see that it's not "or higher" in most cases
