My MacBook Pro is going to sleep, even though I have "Never" set on my power, both battery and wallplug and on my screen saver. This is stopping my backups. What do I have to do to fix this?

My MacBook Pro is going to sleep. I have "Never" set for both battery and wallplug power. In addition, I have "Never" set for the screen saver.

Yet, the computer goes to sleep and the screen saver still comes on. I can't get a backup accomplished because the computer keeps shutting off.

As I understand it, the MacBook Pro is not supposed to behave this way.

Any suggestions.

Well, I also called Apple Support, and the lady I talked to had me reset the computer ( using a real contortionist's set of buttons - who designed THAT, anyways!).

Unfortunately, that didn't work - my computer is still going to sleep, but now it is also running the screen saver (also set to NEVER engage).

Any suggestions?
