Is there any way to emulate OS 10.6.6 on my OS 10.5.8?
I'm thinking of buying http://www.mergeinteractive.com/games/gam_returntodc.html (Return to Dark Castle) app for a relative's birthday, but I absolutely want to play it too. But I'm not interested in upgrading my computer at the moment. So I'm curious if this is even possible.

Oh goodness...10.6.6 does not run on 500 Mhz PowerMacs. They got their own specs page all messed up. To say G3 is a minimum with 500 Mhz is fine, but to say 10.6.6 is a minimum in the same breath is an outright lie. You might as well say the specs of the game are jet fuel on a Honda Civic.
I'm writing them to get it corrected. Once they get it corrected maybe it will run on your machine, maybe it won't. But as it stands you can't know at all.
G3 refers to a CPU Apple used by IBM that was 500 Mhz back in 1999 and 2000.
G4 refers to a CPU Apple used by Motorola that was 1 Ghz back in 2002.
Your MacBook Pro is fast enough to run 10.6.6, but you have to buy the retail 10.6 to install it. It is an Intel CPU.
But unfortunately the specs of the game don't tell you if it will run in 10.5 or not.
In theory if they have supported it since the G3 all the way up to 10.6.6, it should have no trouble running in 10.5, at some release date.
Unless they stopped publishing it between 2003 and 2009.
Man, I had a sweet G3 Beige with RCA input/outputs. Had my stereo, a TV, and Nintendo 64 hooked up to it. I thought i was the bomb in college.
Anyway, yeah, the game was (is?) in production for something like eight years, is what I read on all the forums. Maybe longer than that. But G3 is way older than that. So who knows.
