remote desktop on a PC- losing my connection, any tips?

Hi there,

I am trying to access a remote desktop on my PC at school (I am a teacher). I can access my email but the remote desktop will not load. Sometimes, it will load for a second and then drops the connection.

I've tried firefox and google chrome-neither worked.

Anyone have the answer?
