Is there an instablity between Mail and OS 10.6.8??
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
I've had less ssues than with Lion and SL.
Maybe some help here.

What kind of instability? You need to give some details.
When I click on a URL in Mail the program hangs and I must do a hard boot. I have done a PRAM and a sytem reset as well as reinstalling the software.
Don't understand clicking on a URL in Mail. You mean if there's a URL linked in a message? Otherwise, you click on a message to open it.
Whatever it is, can you open Console in Utilities and look through the various logs for any messages relating to this. Probably should look in System Diagnostic Reports, Diagnostic Reports and anything titled CrashReporter. You'll have to click open various triangles to get at these.
Further information. This seems to be a global issue not related to mail. I get the SBBOD frequently and have discovered that reinstalling the 10.6.8 update resolves the issue for a few hours, I have checked my software and there seem to be no conflicts but the symptoms indicate there may be. I have reinstalled the OS, run Disk Utility as well as DiskWarrior and DriveGenius. None reported an issue with the machine.
