CAN'T play HD movie whilst DOWNLOADING simultaneously

trying to play a HD movie bought from teh itunes store, which has dowloaded about 27 %

and it won't play.

I know this happens on ipad's

But this is the first time this has happend on my mac book pro, and i'm ****- ED

OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
