Same songs getting replayed in the same order when my iPhone pairs via BlueTooth

I was wondering if anyone else has hit this weird problem. As you know when you select to shuffle your songs the phone puts them in a random, fixed order. You can fast forward and rewind through the order it has created. When I turn on my car it pairs via BlueTooth with my iPhone and is supposed to continue playing with the song that was playing when I turned off the car. What happens to me sometimes is that when the phone pairs with the car it "jumps" backwards in the list of songs it has already played by approximately 20 songs. So when I first start driving I have to hit fast forward ~20 times to "catch up" to where I really was when I turned the car off. I can't remember if this started with iOS 5 or iOS 6 but it definitely did NOT used to do this.
