why are you trying to link them? do you have a tethering plan from your carrier?
"Link" is maybe the wrong choice of word. I just want the two devices to discover each other via Bluetooth in order for me to transfer files through an app.
what app? you generally can't transfer files from iphone to iphone thru bluetooth.
It is simply called "bluetooth"
This is not a feature of iOS.
You mean to say that the App is a fraud ? ( In which case I will contact the developer). But why then is there a Bluetooth function on the IPhone 5 , is it just a dummy then ? On the iPhone 4 I could switch on Bluetooth and it will then list other devices that is discoverable and with which you can pair
The iPhones have never been able to transfer files via bluetooth, its there for linking to things like your car for audio and bluetooth earpieces etc.
The built-in iPhone bluetooth functions are for headset, in-car, and computer tethering connection, but there are many apps that can use bluetooth for other purposes. You can't use it to copy music files to other devices because of license terms that Apple had to negotiate with music publishers, but apps should allow many other bluetooth functions.
Great! I thought it was too good to be true.... Let me be specific, all I want to do is to transfer video from my Iphone5 camera roll to my Ipad camera roll by using an App called " Bluetooth". When I start the App it is looking for devices that is discoverable through bluetooth. Now at this point both my iphone5 and Ipad have its bluetooth switched on and is discoverable but neither can "see" each other. What to do?
Bluetooth is NOT an app, it is a wireless standard.
There is NO support for file transfer via iTunes regardless of device.
Copy the video from the iPhone to the computer it normally syncs with. Then connect the iPad and sync the video to it.
There may be apps that will allow for transferring files via a Bluetooth connection, search the App store for them.
Bluetooth would be too slow for video. The iPad camera adapter should be able to transfer video via the iPhone's USB cable. Depending on your iPad, get the 30-pin or Lightning version.

You wanna bet? Check out this app

Thanks Malcolm this is useful information but it still does not solve the non-existend bluetooth functionality
Thanks for proving my point, now READ the name of the app "Bluetooth Photo/Video/Music/Contact Share Pro".
You right about the name mate but it does not solve the bluetooth functionality that is absent ( and this time I am not referring to an App)
