My boyfriend gifted me an album but sent it to the wrong email address how can we recover it?

My boyfriend has gifted me an album but send it to an email address that doesn't exist is there a way we can recover the album/not get charged etc?

If the address that he sent it to doesn't exist and it hasn't been redeemed by somebody else then he should be able to try resending it : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1541
