How do i remove the "other" storage on my MacBook Air.

The "other" storage on my MacBook Air takes up 25 GB out of the 60 GB and i dont know what it is or how to remove it, i only have 2 GB free.

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

The thing about disabling mobile backups is that a) they are so convenient and b) Mobile TimeMachine is intelligent. As space is required for you files, the amount of space TimeMachine uses for the mobile backups is reduced. So you don't save space by disabling TM - you just cut out your safety net.
