Have the same problem as LewisHaws.....have tried everything he tried AND what you suggested and still nothing :/ I plug the ipod into my computer, it shows me the low battery symbol and then switches to the "charging" symbol, but it never actually charges. It just continually tells me ipod disabled connect to itunes, but itunes doesn't recognize the ipod.....and round and round I go! Aggghhh

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Tried another cable?
Tried another computer?
It was someone else that posted the same problem earlier today, you suggested quite a few things for him to try, and I tried them all.
Removing and reinstalling itunes won't delete all my music/apps??
Removing and reinstall iTunes should not effect your iTines media library.
