Backup size wrong vs Icloud backup size
My backup size has an extra 3gb!
Even after disabling everything from backing up, it shows the next backup size 3.6gb?
iPod touch, iOS 6.0.1

Should have said that I have an Ipad 3
Is there someone with a solution out there?
Same thing on my 4S under 6.1.2. About 2.0GB of unexplained space being consumed by the iCloud backup. Deleting and re-enabling the backup didn't help. Only have about 400MB of apps selected for iCloud backup.
Likely corrupted files.
Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
Come back with the results.
Nope, have tried deleting the backup too, with no effect. This is a widespread problem (try Googling it).
is there a solution to this ****?? Says i am using 4.4 GB of backups though iOS shows only 1.1 GB. Now i cannot store anything else on iCloud as I am "out of memory" and Apple wants me to pay... ugh.
Firstly just 5GB of backup space in this day and age when cloud storage is dirt cheap is a crime!!
Secondly this is just a horrendous bug with no fix that impacts the entire UX.
Apple is there a fix for this or can you extend my backup space until you fix it??
Post a screenshots of of what shows:
- though iOS shows only 1.1 GB.
- The screen in Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage
Are any other devices using the same iCloud ID?
Do you have a Mac using the same ID?
Yes but everything is disabled on the Mac with iCloud like photos etc.. Just the 3 devices (ipad, iPhone and mac) connected with same Apple ID. How do I see what my mac is storing in icloud?
Pages, KeyNote and Numbers can save in iCloud
Did you turn on anytime iCloud Drive?
Did you at any time turn on iCloud for iPhoto or Photos
In Mac>System Preferences>iCloud sign in and click on Manage Storage in lower right and see what is listed.
Nope.. i have iDrive, Photos, Mail and back up my mac all turned off. I see the same items as iOS that i pasted above along with their sizes which amount to 1.5GB tops. Still no clue where iCloud is hogging the rest of the space. Seems like a money making scan to force users buy storage
So what does Manage Storage show on your Mac?
shows exactly the same as iOS...
Photos & Videos: 475 bytes
Backup: 4.83 GB
Mail: 49.3MB
Documents: 13.2 MB
If my iOS backups are only 1.2GB and have nothing else like Photos and iCloud drive turned on where the **** is the rest of the memory going?? This is sooooo frustrating.. Apple makes simple products. What a joke!!
I am stumped. All I can suggest is to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Thanks 😟 This is very very frustrating and still cant believe Apple would only give 5GB storage for all its devices when storage costs are close to zero.
