My iphone5 earphone works fine with iphone but not with Macbook pro, it has only half sounds and very low, but if I press and hold the pause button of the earphone while connect to macbook, it works fine, what should I do to fix it?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1

Is the plug pushed in all the way?

Is it an older MacBook Pro?  They were designed for headphone plugs with three contacts, not the iPhone's four contact plugs,  The computer's ground contact must be hitting the microphone contact instead of the ground contact on the plug.  Pressing the center button connects those two contacts, thus making it work. Try using a headphone extension cable.  That may touch the correct plug contact.

It's pushed in all the way, and the macbook is 13-inch MacBook Pro (Early 2011) with OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53).

Any other way besides using headphone extension cable?
