what are the steps to delete or remove this ipod off my device list so that i can get a new one and reassociate my iTunes library to it?
iPod touch (4th generation)
There is no reason to do anything beyond changing the iTunes password and passwords for any accounts that were on the device.
Then simply connect the new device and sync content to it.
