AppStore icon in my iPhone 5 shows there are two updates available. But when I go to the App Store updates page it won't load. I already tried signing out and back in to my AppStore account, did a soft reset of the iPhone , and downloaded updated apps from iTunes in my PC.

So I guess you're all caught up with apps at the moment.
In the future, if you have more than one app to update, do not allow your iPhone to update more than one at a time. Update one, let it download and install, then repeat. (This applies only to over-the-air updates, not through iTunes on your computer).
Yes, I'm caught up with all updates (via iTunes on my PC), but the App Store icon still has the little red number 2 on it. If I open the app, it freezes on the Updates screen with the screen I've shown here.
I have the exact same problem. 2 Updates in the red bubble but whenever I go to the App Store, nothing loads up in Updates.
I'm on the iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0.2. It started happening 24/25th Jan 2013.
If you're seeing the blank update screen try quitting the App Store app and restarting it. That worked for me once when I had the blank screen. To quit an app,
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.
The App Store app is a default app and cannot be deleted.
I've done all that already, without success.
I also signed out of my Apple account, did a soft reset of the iPhone, and logged back into my account.
None of that has worked.
I've done all of that too with no avail. Problem still persists.
I am having the exact same issue, I now show 8 apps on the icon but nothing in the Update section, been like this for the past 4 days now.
Have you tried resetting the iPhone, and, if that fails, restoring?
To reset the iPhone, hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
To restore, plug the iPhone into iTunes (current version 11.0.1), let it sync, then press "Restore" on the iPhone's summary page on the right side of iTunes.
Just updated to iOS 6.1 and it fixed the problem for me...
Updating to iOS 6.1 fixed it for me too.

updated last night to ios 6.1...and its happening from today morning...
is it app store problem or solely device...because few other blogs reporting same issue.....
Same story. Updated to 6.1 last night and went to update apps- wont show!

Crap. It's started happening again. I have 2 updates in the red bubble but a blank update page again... Apple, please fix!
Have you tried resetting your phone? Press Home and Power buttons at the same time and hold down until the Silver Apple appears (ignore the red slider).
See if it is resolved when the device comes back up. You will not lose any data doing the reset.

try this, mine was doing the exact same thing...just found this in another post and mine is now working.
Double tap the home button, you'll see a dock at the bottom appear, scroll and find the "App Store" press and hold on the icon until you see the red minus sign, tap the minus sign to close the app and try it again.
