iPod Nano turns off during playback

I checked archived questions and can't see an answer.

This is first time I have used it.

Is the ipod brand new? If yes, I recommend to visit the store and reqest for replacement. Cheers!

New: yes but not used since last years purchase.

I solved it - didn't push headphones in hard enough. I really had to force them in before I heard the click. They weren't falling out before then so did not realize. Thankyou for your help bongzki-02.
