Backup iPod Classic (video)

I manage my music manually, as I use different computers to upload music (mostly CDs) to my iPod Classic (video). This means that the music on my iPod Classic is much more than on either of the computers. How can I back up my iPod Classic (without syncing!) to preserve its contents?
