Every time I open Safari it downloads a file I downloaded for the first time months ago. It is a pdf file of someones's CV. I've erased cookies and temporary files and don't know what else to do. Thanks.

Something to try: press and hold the shift key while launching Safari from the Dock.
Quit Safari. Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library". The go to Caches folder and find and delete com.apple.Safari.
It didn't work...still while the Shift key is being pressed the file begins downloading again....

I am using OSX in Spanisho so I guess "Go" is "Ir". I don't understand what you mean by hold the option key to choose "Library". I see no option key and there's no "library menu...
In the Finder menu, you should see something like this (but in Spanish, I suppose):
See the "Go" menu item? Hold down the option (sorry, don't know Spanish for these terms) and you'll see a folder named "Library" ("Biblioteca"). This is your user Library folder. Inside of that folder, you'll see a files named "Caches" and inside it a folder named "com.apple.Safari". Select and delete that folder.
See if this solves your problem.

I do get to the Go menu you mention but I don't have a folder named Library or Biblioteca. This is what I get:
Maybe if you tell me the command keys to access it I'll be able to know what you're talking about.
I understand what to do after I find Library, but just can't find it!

You have to hold down the option ("opción" -or alt) key before selecting the Ir menu...

Yes, with your "Ir" menu open, press the option/alt key,
If you go under "View" and the click "Show Downloads," is it shown there? If so, remove it. (Sorry, don't know what they translate to.)
I got it!.
I did everything, quit Safari, locate "library", erased the com.apple.Safari folder from the Cached folder....
And when I opened Safari again it still downloaded the file!
I don't get it....
Yep, its there....I erased it and it's still downloaded again when I reopen Safari.
In my "downloads" folder the file appears like 70 times....
Quit Safari.
Go to ~/Library/Safari. (That's in the hidden library as discussed above.)
Remove Downloads.plist.
If for any reason you see com.apple.safari.savedstate located in ~/Library/SavedApplicationState, remove that, too.
Try Safari again.
Perhaps that file is set as the 'homepage' & safari opens with it ?
