iPod Touch syncs songs, but not fully?

So I've added songs from a CD I purchased into my iTunes. The synching process goes normally until it is finished, where the songs have reached my iPod. However, the songs are greyed out, and cannot be played or deleted. I tried a few other CD's and this happened again. I've had my iPod Touch for three years now, and this is the first time it has happened.

Thank you for your help 🙂

iPod touch, iOS 6, I use a Mac to connect to iTunes.

Did you import the CDs using the Import feature in iTunes? Doing so converts the format.

Do the songs play in iTunes?

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Unsync all music and resync

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
