What would be the best way to record audio (from the mic) on an imac, and then burn to audio cd (CD-R)?
I can find a target in compressor for this.
I can record ok onto a timeline and cut but then how to create audio cd?
or should I use use something other than FCP

SInce you have Garageband on your Mac, it would be best. You can burn directly from the app.

The easiest way is probably to record using Quicktime Player. Save the audio recording, drag it to a playlist in iTunes, and burn that to CD.

Yes ok with iTunes but I want to create separate tracks first.
Normally, (i'm used to doing this on a pc) tracks are made from each separate file.
How can I therefore create separate files first from from a continuous recorded stream.

I did, but ever so quickly and I couldn't figure out how cuts would be exported to individual files or CD tracks. Do you know if garageband can do that?
