Display read messages in Inbox
I just linked my Hotmail account to my iPod Touch through the 'Mail' app. It works, but it only displays unread messages. How do I get all messages in the Inbox to display?

What do you mean by all messages?
If it is an POP3 account?
A POP3 account will only download messages that are still on the server.
I'd like access to all my messages in my Inbox, whether I have already viewed them or not. Right now, it only shows those I have not read (most email programs indicate this showing the message in bold, whereas messages that are read are not bold but still displayed and accessible). If I were to move every message that I read into a sub folder, I suppose I would be able to find them all, but I'm not that organized nor do I want to take the time for that extra step. I'd rather just see all of my read messages that I haven't deleted.
I'm not sure if it's a POP3 account......how do I determine that? It's a Hotmail account that I've used for years, and linking it to my new iPod Touch was my first experience with an Apple product.
Either this is a majorly inconvenient result of Apple's "simple and elegant" approach, or I'm missing a really simple step! Thanks for your help.
See if yuo can set up the account on the iPd as specified here. It says
All of your Hotmail folders and subfolders are browsable.
That's how I set it up originally. Although the main Inbox is browsable (I can search for a specific message), it doesn't display any of the read messages unless they are the result of a search. So maybe the work-around is to put all of my read messages into a subfolder, then I would have access to them.
It appears that there's very few options for setup, preferences, etc., which is where I would normally look to fix this problem. That seems to be a common theme with iOS.
Thanks for looking into it.
I figured it out! You can't change any settings within the 'Mail' app, but you can change them in the 'Settings' app on the home screen. Go to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" > Hotmail (or other email server under the "Accounts" heading) > Mail Days to Sync > choose "No Limit" (it was set at 3 days, which is why it was showing a limited amount of messages). Phew!
