Can't install all apps on my ipad

For certain apps (like spotify and netflix) i search and find the apps, but the "free" button is grey and I can't click it.

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 6.0.2

Do you have any restrictions enabled in your settings? check the "ratings restrictions" as some of those, if enabled, will block downloading apps like that based on the content they could access.

I have 'restrictions' set on my ipod but I can't seem to remember the pass word is there anyway round this?

You will have to restore your iPod to remove the forgotten password. If you have a backup from before you set the password, you can restore from that. Otherwise, you will need to restore as new and set everything up again.
