Does anyone know the meaning of the part number on iPad 2. MC981ZP/A instead of MC981B/A? Is it non UK iPad ?
Part number different to 'usual' according to a friend. Can anyone enlighten us please?

The letters indicate the country or region where they are sold. ZP/A appears to be New Zealand.
Have now managed to track it down. it is a Hong Kong ipad. I have confirmed details and authenticity with Apple and I'm now much happier. many Thanks
P.s. my first guess was New Zealand too!
You can see the model number in Settings>General>About>Model. The model number has a two-letter code, a number and some more letters. The last part stands for the country/region. The first letter can be "F" (refurbished), "M" (normal retail), or "P" (personalized / engraved). For example MC605B is the model MC605 and B is for the region.
