Why can't my iPhone 5 connect to private wi-fi?

I recently bought the iPhone 5 and I upgraded to iOS 6.0.2 about 2 weeks ago. Everything was working fine but last Friday, I made several attempts to connect to my friend's wi-fi which has a password and I keep seeing the message "Unable to Connect". I'm aware that this is a problem common among other iPhone users who have also upgraded to iOS 6.0.2. Is there anything besides rebooting or resetting network settings that I can try to fix this? Thanks

Hi,

I am currently an Ipod Touch 4th generation owner. I may be able to help with your Iphone issue.

Try:

-resetting your router

-resetting your network settings: SETTINGS>GENERAL>RESET>RESET ALL NETWORK SETTINGS

Hope I helped!

Thanks

Just got my new iPhone 5...so excited, as this is my third iPhone. When it didn't connect to the wifi at work, I didn't worry, cause I thought it would just need a reboot. But it wont' connect at home either. Not only that, but there must be 10 available networks that I can view on my iMac and my phone can 't see any of them, let alone my personal wifi!! This is a big disapointment. I have updated the phone (first thing that I did when I got it) and nothing....

OK so it now looks like on my iPhone 5 iwth iOS 6.1 the LTE network is conflicting with my home wifi (Airport Extreme). At the Apple store the LTE signal is lost in and wifi works like a charm. At home tired all of the "fixes"

-No security

-WEP

-Reset network,

-Complete reset and reload on the phone

-ETC ETC ETC

Just turned off the cell radio and it worked. Turned on the cell radio but kept LTE off and it worked.

Apple let's get a fix so we can use your "great" phone. I have just received a BB Z10 from work and it seems to work flawlessly.

Was having wifi connection issues with my iPhone 5 dropping in and out all the time. Did everything that was recommended - no better. Had phone replaced. Same issues. iPhone4 and iPad were fine. Took the plastic cover off my phone and all issues have gone away. Connection is perfect. Same plastic cover on iphone4 no problem! Tested iphone5 cover on friends phone and he started having problem!!! 3 months of problems and it was the dam white diamonds cover!!!!!!!!!!!
