Title explains. Also, I tried disconnecting it and then reconnecting it, but no luck. I am writing to you on my iPod touch(5th gen ) so as you can see it has Internet access.

It's a problem with Apple. Everyone with an iPod Touch 5th generaton is having this issue, as far as I know.
yes and before this public released came i was having trouble installing the beta 5 version of ios 6.1 hope something gets done asap
Try updating the iPod touch again.
A few people in this thread say the problem isn't happening anymore.
yup i tried it and it worked like a charm updated via settings on the touch!
When I try to update my iPod touch, it says 'not connected to the Internet' when I am! Disappointment, apple!
