Showed up under software update on my Touch but I haven't tried it yet. I'm old fashioned and do my updates via my computer.

I suspect people will have some issues for a few hours as more and more realize it's out there and get it....apple's servers are notorious for being a bit overwhelmed immediately after a software update.

THe file shows up as 75ish megs.

If someone is having issues I'd suggest they wait a few hours and try back later.

NOPE -You are wrong!!!!

Brand NEW iPod Touch 5gen.

Size doesn't matter (in this case, and issue) unless your space is small preventing the update, which is obviously not the issue. Since the issues stands at: Failing Verification, Not Connected to Internet.

Here is what happened to me.

I have several WiFi connections available. CML CMW.

iPad Mini: I was connected on the iPad Mini to CMW and downloaded the update, it installed successfully :-) BUT the WiFi changed to CML when it rebooted.

iPod Touch: I changed to CML WiFi and retried the already downloaded iOS 6.1, and it installed successfully. Interestingly the iPod Touch when it completed the install was using CMW.

Weird - Yes. But now, all my devices are iOS 6.1 :-)

****...i just updated on my iPad2.

It downloaded but i got an error message when i tried to install it. Silly me then restarted my iPad. It seemed to install OK. But when it restart after installing it hung at the apple logo and progress bar.

I've forced quit several times, connected it to my Imac and itunes but nothing I do changes the situation.

Its hung!

You can't actually download an update on ur device u have to connect ur iPad to ur PC and then go onto where it says your iPad or something on those lines and u click it and then click on check for updates or something like that and it will say if there is any updates (there probably will be) so ten click on ur update and press download and viola, I hope this helped
