I'm downloading iOS 6.1 on my iPod Touch, 5th Generation from 6.0.1. I downloaded it, and it said "must be 50% battery to install" I plugged it in, tapped install now, and a couple seconds later, it popped up saying "Verification of the iOS 6.1 update failed because you are no longer connected to the Internet" The odd thing? I am connected to the internet and I have a perfect connection. Do we have any solutions?

No solutions yet. There's a problem with the update files. You'll get an error whether you try to update over the air or in iTunes.

I think so. I don't know anyone's who's succeeded with a 5th gen Touch.

Hmmmm.. well I hope this fix the 5th generation soon.
It seems to be a 5th gen problem as others I know are having this issue on 5th gen but not 4th gen. I would hope that Apple corrects this issue by days end.
I am having the same problem with my ipod touch 5th gen. Anything we can do to fix it or do we have to wait till apple releases a fix? even if an update update file is released how are we supposed to use that since the system doesn't allow us to redownload the update file OTA?
Same problem with my Ipod Touch 5th generation. I get error 3194 on my PC and on Wi-Fi it says that I don't have connection to Wi-Fi- Pleaase fix this fast, Apple. I recorded it and made a video:

I get the error this iPod is not eligible for this update. I even have the file on my desktop!! It does not matter if done that way, Over the Air or through iTunes. It's a definite bug of some sorts.
No luck with my 5th gen iPod either. Cycled power, but still reports no wifi connection when in fact I have a wifi connection.

Funny thing is that the ios Beta 5 weekend release also reports this problem on this device.
Yep. I had this problem over the weekend with the beta version, and yet Apple still released this publicly. If they'd checked their own developers' forums, they wouldn't have!
it was updating fine for me but then my ipod went to sleep mode and got disconnected from the internet and then it told me to try downloading again, so i did but it keeps sayin it cant verify because i have no connection :( as far as i can tell, if during the update u interrupted the update in anyway then it gives u the error but i might be wrong. OZ1980 has a valid point which we should all consider.
