P.S. Maybe it is available for earlier models, have no info on that respect. But judging from the 6.0.2 rollout, wouldn't hold my breath.

For what it is worth, every update I did with my iPhone, iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4 and thus far with my iPhone 5 has never caused me any real problems, so I'll be doing it once I get home.
Release notes for 6.1 say it is for 3Gs and later, iPad2 and later and iPod Touch 4th gen and later.
I just updated an hour ago. No issue(s) on my phone.

To end the workday so the phone is no longer a critical piece of equipment and for iTunes to have a full, valid and up-to-date backup of the thing.

With every new IOS release, there has always been people moaning about it killing their phone, or losing their data or draining their battery.
I'm surprised I haven't seen one yet already.

I just installed IOS 6.1 on my iphone 4. Worked great.
Oooky, doky, it is now 15:21 CST and we have three (3) new 6.1 teethgnashing threads active. That didn't take long...

Have done my iPhone 5 and iPad 4, over the air updates, all went just fine.
I installed iOS 6.1 on my iPhone 5 and iPad 4 with no problems.
Given that the universe did not end and chaos did not befall humanity, I shall proceed to update my i5. On my Mac, thru iTunes, which shall conserve a local copy of the firmware, and after it has backed up the phone. Given the time to download the bugger over a 5Mbps link, it is not a small bit of code!
Updated my iPad mini 4G and my iPad 4, both iPhone 5's.. Not one device has any issues what's so ever...
iPhone 5 owners, new iOS 6.1, shall we risk it?
